Nuts

It's no secret that the Korean peninsula is a highly sensitive and possibly volatile region right now. So that makes a story that The Washington Post published over the weekend (link here), about how Donald Trump is making matters much worse, all the more disturbing.

South Korea has the most to lose if North Korea starts lobbing nuclear warheads and other dangerous weapons. So why is Trump attacking the South Korean president in the media and not speaking with him directly?

Of course, Trump attacked America's ally on Twitter, the sort of reckless behavior that survey after survey has shown a large majority of Americans find disturbing and thus leads them to question his fitness for office. Trump seems to enjoy being provocative above all else, damn the consequences.

North Korea's dictator is volatile and emotionally unstable. The same can be said about Trump. Having these two reckless fools in a pissing contest is dangerous for everyone else.

I have friends who were sure during the campaign last year that Trump would end up causing a war before the end of his first year in office if he were elected. I thought he would be a bad President but nowhere near that bad.

It's looking like I might have been wrong. I certainly hope that's not the case.
